As summer approaches and we want to get outside and wear our bikinis; this is a good time to cleanse the body. I like to do cleanses twice a year. The first detox is usually in the spring. Preparing my body for lighter foods. I do my second cleanse in late Fall preparing for the slowing down during the winter months. I have developed a 10 days detoxification program that starts with colon cleaning then liver cleaning and finally blood cleaning.
Day 1 -3
Diet will include fish beans fruits and vegetables, salads and herbal teas. During this time, I recommend taking bitter tonics and drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily. Gentian, Angelica, Blessed Thistle are just a few of the bitter herbs available
Diet will include just fruits, vegetables and herbal teas continuing to drink plenty of
water. For these 3 days you want to avoid all meats and heavy foods. Liver herbs include Yellow Dock, Dandelion Root, milk thistle. According to Chinese medicine the liver holds on to a lot of emotions especially anger and bitterness. A good herb to take during this time is Bupluerum; which helps to cleanse these old emotions out of the liver.
During this time, you want to eat mostly liquids like smoothies, herbal teas and water. It is ok to add protein powders to increase calories if needed. This is a time to cleanse the blood. After doing your liver cleanse a lot of the toxins have been but into your blood stream and they need to be flushed out. Increasing your water intake during this time is crucial. Herbs to clean the blood include Red Clover Hibiscus , and cleavers just to name a few.
Your body cleanse is now complete. I recommend continue drinking plenty of water. For my faster in the world. I recommend taking Day 10 to do a water fast for 24 hours. However, if you aren’t a faster you can do 24 hours of clear liquids like broths, water and herbal teas. Bone broth is full of nutrients.
This 10-day Detoxification/cleanse will have you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. Cleansing the inside of your body is just as important as cleansing the outside. Stay healthy all
